Dany Necklace
Dany is irresistible. It’s definitely a statement necklace – and you’re in control of the statement. Wear it loose and bask in the bohemian glow of beads draped casually around your neck. Maybe you’re feeling more like a queen? A few twists of the necklace before you fasten it: and you’ve got a spiral of sparkle and color that sits boldly below your gorgeous face.
The Dany Necklace is worked in the round and uses the beaded chain crochet technique. Stripes of different colors can be made by stringing the beads with a bit of planning and (of course!) counting. Whether you’re using one color or one dozen colors of beads, this necklace will mesmerize you.
Dany’s counterpart is the Lyanna Bracelet.
This necklace is sized for all sorts of statement makers:
17 (19, 22, 24)” finished length when the necklace is worn untwisted. Twisting the necklace will shorten the length slightly, depending on your torque.
The pattern is written for both fingering weight AND sport weight yarns
FINGERING WEIGHT uses 30 (35, 43, 50) yards
1380 (1560, 1860, 2040) size 8/0 seed beads
Hook size B, gauge of 7 sc = 1”
SPORT WEIGHT uses 22 (25, 30, 35) yards and
760 (840, 1000, 1080) size 6/0 seed beads
Hook size D, gauge of 6 sc = 1”
Other materials needed: a 1/2”-3/4” button, a large eye beading needle or dental floss threader.
If you’re making a few of these necklaces, I highly recommend investing in a bead spinner to help you string your beads.
