Day of the Dead Mitten
These mittens celebrate my admiration for the beautiful artwork celebrating the Day of the Dead holiday. One skein each of the Edelweiss and Black Cat Rosy Green Cheeky Merino Joy are worked in a slightly dense gauge and result in a cozy pair of gauntleted mittens.
To decorate the flowers on the cuff, I used a gradient set of Pigeon Roof Studios High Twist sock. A gradient set is not required; 15-20 yards of individual colors will be enough to work the flowers on both cuffs and embellish the final mitten designs.
Feel free to substitute whatever colors you enjoy. No experience with embroidery or duplicate stitch is necessary as these mittens look beautiful in only black and white!
Because of the complexity of the design, the pattern designs are presented as charts only.
