This versatile sleeveless top will be equally at home at a music festival, a backyard barbecue, in a sidewalk café, or on an apartment terrace!

The cable-accented V-neck, angled armholes and split back hem flatter many body types, and the wide ribbing can be blocked to the same circumference as the body, or allowed to pull in slightly, accenting the waist. Even though Della Mae is worked in a sock weight yarn, its slightly cropped length and shaped armholes make it a relatively quick project, and the cabled accents at center front and back keep the knitting process interesting, without requiring constant attention.

Skill level: Intermediate; skills include reading a chart, cable knitting, working in the round, decreasing, 3-needle bind-off, and attached I-cord.

Needles
US size 4/3.5 mm: 24-47” circular needle (cir), depending on selected garment size, for body; preferred style for small circumference knitting in the round, for armhole edging.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers (m); cable needle; stitch holders; tapestry needle.

Gauge 28 sts/38 rnds to 4”/10 cm in St st. Measure gauge on blocked swatch.

Notes
The waist ribbing is worked flat, then joined at the top of the ribbing, leaving an inverted-V-shaped opening in the ribbing at center back. The body is worked in the round up to the armholes; upper front and back are worked flat. The front and back “V” neck openings are shaped with decreases just outside
the cabled accents; the back V-neck is more shallow than the front. Neck edges are self-finished. Shoulders are joined using 3-needle bind-off. Armhole edges are finished with attached I-cord.
