I like to play with different constructions and shapes and shawls are the perfect canvas for this as you can be more adventurous.

The shawl starts with a circle; then two sections are worked outwards at an angle, so that they sit comfortably over the shoulders when the shawl is worn.

The unusual increases which form the circle are echoed in an all over pattern reminiscent of falling petals on each straight section of the shawl, creating a gentle ripple effect which highlights the beautiful colour changes in the hand dyed yarn and creates a scalloped edge

20 sts and 26 rows to 10 x 10 cm in st st using 4.5mm needles
One patt rep of Petal Pattern (st count across patt rep varies) measures 4.5cm wide and 3.5cm high after blocking.
