Modern Daily Knitting Field Guide No. 17: Lopi is like a trip to Iceland, without the hassle of a flight.

This casual sweatshirt of a pullover is lighter than you would guess from looking at it, due to a shift of the Léttlopi gauge. The blocks of color meet with a stranded colorwork motif that uses both colors at the same time for a few rows.

It is knit from the bottom up, and the sleeves are picked up and knit down for a drop-shoulder fit. As if that all weren’t enough: it has pockets! And inside each pocket: a secret motif.
