Dog Bandana Cowl
Meet Bina, a rescue Chihuahua from Mexico! I designed this cozy bandana cowl just for her using Drops Nepal. The cowl is worked flat then joined in the round, with 1×1 ribbing at the neck for a snug, stretchy fit.
This adorable dog cowl starts worked flat, with easy increases, then switches to knitting in the round. A tassel is completely optional—but I think it adds a playful touch! You’ll use garter stitch, yarn-over increases, simple decreases, an easy cable-less heart motif and 1×1 ribbing.
Written in seven sizes to fit most breeds, you can customize it easily: for a smaller pup, work four fewer rows in the bandana section and cast on four fewer stitches at the neck before joining in the round. To size up, just add more pattern repeats and cast on extra neck stitches. Smaller sizes can be worked in the round on double-pointed needles or with the magic-loop method.
Finished circumference of ribbing:
9”(22.8cm)
12”(30.4cm)
15.5”(39.3cm)
19”(48.2cm)
22”(55.8cm)
25.5”(64.7cm)
29”(73.6cm)
To fit neck circumference of:
7”-9”(17.7cm-22.8cm)
10”-12”(25.4cm-30.4cm)
13”-15”(33cm-38cm)
16”-19”(40.6cm-48.2cm)
20”-22”(50.8cm-55.8cm)
23”-25”(58.4cm-63.5cm)
26”-29”(66cm-73.6cm)
Measure around your pets neck and pick the size that matches the “to fit neck circumference” measurement. There will be some overlap between sizes, so if your pets neck is between, pick the smaller size.
