Domenica in centro
In a perfect combination of elements, Domenica in centro mixes comfortable fit with a touch of elegance, to obtain a cozy and warm cardigan to throw on and get out for a walk in down town or out from the city. Domenica in centro is the perfect jacket to be used indoor as well as outdoor replacing a coat in warmer days of winter.
Worked top down, this jacket shows a hybrid circular yoke and a well defined A-shaped line, roomy sleeves and a nice texture given by the simple but eye-catching stitch pattern used for the body and the sleeves.

-BO (preferred stretchy method)

The jacket is intended to be worn with a positive ease at bust (approximately 7.5 cm / 3”).
Example shown: bust circumference 86 cm/34” with suggested ease.
Gauge: 21.5 sts x 31 rows = 10 cm / 4” in stitch pattern with 4.5 mm (US 7) needles; 17 sts x 36 rows = 10 cm / 4” in garter st with 4.5 mm (US 7) needles.

-Yarn: DK yarn. Quantity required: 1000 (1050, 1100, 1100, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1300, 1600, 1650, 1750) m / 1100 (1200, 1250, 1250, 1400, 1550, 1650, 1750, 1800, 1800, 1900) yards.
Please consider that yarn quantity is only estimated.
Yarn used for the sample: Drops Merino Extra Fine (please carefully check your gauge on a blocked swatch!)
-60 cm / 23” and 100 cm / 40” circular needle size 4.5 mm (US 7)
-60 cm / 23” circular needle size 3.5 mm (US 4)
-DPNs size 4.5 mm (US 7) if you prefer DPN to work sleeves
-waste yarn
-6 markers
-tapestry needle
-8 (8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10, 10, 10) buttons diam 2 cm / 0.8”
Please notice that not all sizes have been tested. Some adjustment, especially regarding needed yarn quantity, might still be needed.
