Stella Egidi
Hello, I am Stella. I live in Italy in the countryside just outside Rome, where my days unfold somewhere between my healthcare carrier, olive trees, tangled skeins of yarn, and the eternal question: how many knitting projects are too many knitting projects?
In real life, I’m a general practitioner. In my parallel life — the softer, woollier one — I’m a knitwear designer, an avid reader, a gardener, an olive grower, and the mother of two boys who have taught me that chaos and beauty are often the same thing wearing different cardigans.
I design knitwear the way I imagine stories are written: searching for rhythm, texture, comfort, and a little surprise hidden between the lines. I love creating garments and accessories that are wearable but never boring — pieces that feel elegant without taking themselves too seriously, and patterns that keep your hands entertained while your mind wanders elsewhere.
Over the years, my taste has quietly changed. I find myself drawn more and more to natural fibers, earthy neutrals, and simpler shapes. Not quite minimalism — I still believe in details, character, and a touch of poetry — but perhaps a gentler kind of design. Less shouting, more whispering.
Knitting, for me, is not about perfection. It’s about making beautiful things slowly, one stitch at a time, while life happens all around them.
