Snowy days on the Maine coast are a monochrome study in shifting shades of gray and black—the shapes are definitely on the triangular side, with pointy spruce and firs, rocks weathered by waves and wind, and islands, headlands and lighthouses fading into the distance.

These mittens are light and flexible, but warmer than expected—the secret is a strand of mohair carried along with the main color! The thumb includes a gusset for a comfortable fit. This design also features a lined cuff, making the mittens snug and cozy at the wrist, keeping out the icy winds, but still easy to pull on and off as needed!
