The dustman tea cosy is an old fashioned style refuse man before health and safety and before wheelie bins.

He’s wearing a flat cap, big black boots and blue dungarees and he’s whistling a merry tune as he works.

He has a full bin slung over his shoulder that he is carrying along to empty into the cart. On the top of the bin is a tied up dustbin bag full of rubbish.

It’s a great tea cosy to knit and I think we have all found a new appreciation of frontline workers.

The pattern is knitted on two pins and is easy to follow and is mainly worked in stocking stitch.

The tea cosy fits a medium sized teapot that covers a Teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.
