We live in a remote area where the only toy shop is one side of an aisle in the over-priced grocery store. So when we get a last minute birthday party invite, gifts can be tough to come by. However, there’s a great yarn shop and I have a big stash. I always hope to find a pattern that will appeal to the underage recipients and knit up quick ’n’ easy, or as my daughter says, “easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.” This wrist-warmer has been a real hit with the 6-10 year olds we know.

Though there are 2 styles included in the pattern, it can be easily modified to suit the taste of the kid you have in mind.

Materials:
Yarn: Washable worsted weight in 2 contrasting colours – main colour 55 - 65 yards (50-60 meters); contrasting colour 11-22 yards (10-20 meters).
Needles: 4.5mm (US 7) double pointed needles or equivalent circular for magic loop; Tapestry needle; small crochet hook
