Eiri Junior is a cardigan for children and is inspired by the mosaic pattern from the Eiri shawl from my book ’Nordic Shawls’. It is a simple and striking pattern, which suits a round yoke to perfection.
The cardigan is knit flat from the top down. The neck is raised with short rows. The sleeves are knit in the round, and the front edges are knit at the end from picked up stitches.
As the pattern is worked in mosaic knitting, you never knit with more than one colour at a time.

Eiri Junior is the second pattern of a series of cardigans inspired by the Eiri shawl. You can also knit Eiri Baby and soon Eiri Voksen (adult) as well.

Measurements:
Chest: 66 (71) 76 (81) 86 cm
Full length: 40 (44) 47 (51) 54 cm
Sleeve length: 29 (30) 34 (38) 40 cm

Yarn requirements:
Colour A: 60 (80) 90 (100) 100 g
Colour B: 60 (80) 100 (100) 100 g
Colour C: 80 (100) 100 (120) 150 g

Tip: The cardigan can also be knit with 4 or 5 colours, where you continue to new colours on body and sleeves instead of changing back to colour B and A. That way it is a very good project for scrap yarn and left-over treasures. Expect to use a little more than half of the yardage given for col A and B for the extra colours (thus you can expect to use a little less than half the stated amount for col A and B).
