In addition to being an incredibly warm winter accessory, Lucy Sweetland’s multi-directional scarf is an adventurous knitting process! Rich, knotted cables travel the asymmetric Center Panel, which also features a slipped-stitch texture pattern along one side. To finish, textured panels are worked at each end in a perpendicular direction and attached to the Center Panel as they are made. The entire piece is trimmed with a built-in I-Cord frame for a clean, finished look.
CONTRUCTION
- The Cabled Center Panel is worked first, and begins with a Provisional Cast On. Upon completion, you will have live stitches at the beginning and end of this panel.
- The Top Panel is worked second, and is attached to the live stitches along the top of the Cabled Center Panel as it is worked. This piece is finished with an I-cord Bind Off.
- The Bottom Panel is worked last, and is attached to the provisional cast-on stitches from Center Panel in the same manner as Top Panel was attached. This piece is finished with a Reverse I-Cord Bind Off.
