Ella
Oh my, a new favorite! Ella is a graceful feminine cardigan that combines lace and cables to delight the eyes and the craft. Ella means fairy maiden, this one is definitely pretty enough to adorn a fairy maiden. This cropped cardigan perfect for wearing over your spring dresses or a tank and pants. Ella is not a quick knit but the result of a beautiful cardigan is so worth it!

Other: Stitch markers, cable needle, waste yarn, tapestry needle.
Gauge: 24 sts and 34 rows = 4”/10cm in Stockinette Stitch.
Notes: This cardigan is constructed from the top down in one piece with saddle shoulders and set-in sleeves. The shoulders are shaped by short rows. There is no body shaping past the armholes; the cable panels and ribbed band add some natural shaping. The length of the body and sleeves are easily adjusted.
There are a lot of markers used in this pattern to make the instructions more clear; you certainly do not have to use them all. I would suggest using different colors for the different lace panels.
If you change the stitch count for any of the Stockinette sections you will need an odd number for the Rib Border to work.
The buttonhole and button bands are worked as part of the body of the cardigan. The buttonholes are simply holes created by the stitch pattern - you decide how many buttons to use. I placed the buttons every 3rd yo.
