Embrace the Detours
A striking shawl knit on a bias that features simple mosaic slipped stitches and creates a captivating graphic motif. Choose garter or stockinette to give your accessory the look you desire.
Embrace the Detours is a shawl that is part of the Girl’s Road Trip collaboration with Veronika of YOTH and Dami of Magpie Fibers for their epic 2016 Road Trip. They created an exclusive kit featuring yarns dyed specifically for the project. Kits are available at Girl’s Road Trip stops during their tour. Additional kits may be available online starting in mid-June.
Don’t despair if you can’t visit with the girls on the road or snag a kit online, you can easily substitute any fingering or heavy lace weight yarn. Be sure to check out Ve’s GRT shawl, Let’s Get Lost!

Notes
Two charts are included, they are identical save the flipping of the colors. Work charts in the order presented if your section 1 is the the lighter color. If section 1 is in the darker color work chart 3 first followed by chart 2 so the chart colors correspond to your yarn colors.
This shawl has 4 sections, you work each section one time. The first is solid until you reach 53 stitches, the second uses the color from section one as the main color and you add in the second color as the contrast for one repeat of the chart. In section 3 you reverse the colors for one repeat of the chart, for section 4 you continue in garter or stockinette in the color you didn’t use for section one until you run out of yarn or to desired length.
