Emlyn is a squishy, shallow wrap that lends a touch of coverage and warmth while dressing up any basic outfit. It’s worked in either DK/sport or light worsted-weight yarns but can be adapted to other yarn weights.

The wrap is worked from side to side, with increases and decreases along one edge of the wrap. The wrap is then rotated to work the optional picot edging into the chain-loops of the diagonal (increase / decrease) edge.

Customization tips are included.

This pattern uses U.S. crochet terminology.

Skill Level: Intermediate.

Finished Sizes:
Size 1: 9” deep at center of wrap; 46” wingspan.
Size 2: 11” deep at center; 58” wingspan.
Instructions are given for Size 1 with Size 2 in parentheses ( ).

Worked at this gauge, Seis Cabos yields a firmer, weightier texture, with pronounced puffs, while the lighter-weight Arroyo (the lighter color shown here) blocks out lacier, softer, and delicate, with slimmer puff stitches.

Hook: Size I (5.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge (or desired fabric; see Gauge).

Notions: Yarn needle; stitch markers.

Gauge (blocked): 6 puff-V = 4 ¼”; 8 rows in pattern = 4”.

Precise gauge is not critical for this pattern, and different yarn weights can be substituted. It is more important that you like the look of the stitches and fabric, so adjust your hook to achieve the look and texture you like best with your chosen yarn.
