Enlightenment Cowl
YouTube tutorial and introduction: https://youtu.be/_sh7z-mzVoc
The Enlightenment Cowl is a refreshingly simple way to showcase the beautiful colorways of Lion Brand Mandala yarn.
Enjoy the delight of creating something wearable very quickly with an extra large hook. Ease. Speed. No counting after the first row. Light. Easy to wear. Meditatively simple.
Requires less than one cake of yarn with no cutting of color changes. Go with the flow!
This light, fluffy tubular cowl is comfortable to wear either indoors and outside. The included scarf variation is a longer, skinnier version of the cowl using the same stitch pattern.
The cowl requires about 2/3 of a cake of Mandala yarn (about 401 yards (367 meters) or 102 grams). The scarf requires 1 full cake of Mandala (590 yards (540 meters) or 150 grams). The samples shown use the Troll colorway.
Perfect as a fast project for a gift or as a project you can work on while you watch TV without having to think too much. A fast crocheter could complete this cowl from start to finish in one day. A more leisurely or beginner stitcher may require a weekend.
This is a beginner pattern and requires only chain and single crochet stitches. Pattern is written in US terms and includes explanations of all stitches and abbreviations. US and metric measurements given.
Finished cowl dimensions are about 17 by 31 inches (43 by 79 cm) when using Lion Brand Mandala dk weight yarn and a 19 mm hook.
Finished scarf dimensions are about 12 by 55 inches (30.5 by 140 cm) when using 1 cake of Lion Brand Mandala dk weight yarn and a 19 mm hook.
Pattern pdf includes color photos and detailed instructions for blocking techniques for beginners (blocking is optional).
