The Etched vest is an exercise in balance. Its undulating colorwork motif lingers between rippled sand and wire mesh, and a contemporary high-low hem is in equilibrium with a rustic fabric created by three colors of woolen-spun Loft. The construction of Etched, too, incorporates both colorworking knitting in the round for the front as well as flat knit stockinette for the back. Curious knitters will surely enjoy this harmonious tabard as both a process and product project.
Please note: the stitch patterns used for this garment are charted only.
Construction
This garment is worked from the bottom up in pieces. The front is worked circularly using a steek, and the back is worked flat. Additional steeks are used to work armhole and neck shaping. The shoulders are shaped on the back only, and the front and back shoulders are joined using the Joinery Bind Off. The collar is picked up and worked circularly. Stitches are picked up around the armholes and bound off using the I-Cord Bind Off.
