Evie’s Gone Camping is inspired by a quick camping trip to Maine that we took our dog Evie on during the pandemic. She (and we!) loved every minute of the trip - running along the pebbly beach, playing frisbee in the wide open field, visiting Acadia’s Thunder Hole and she even slept between us both nights. I drew upon the beautiful starry skies that we saw each night and the mountains and trees that surrounded our cabin.
This is a special collaboration with Hudson + West Co. I used their fabulous fingering weight Weld yarn in three different colors for this sweater and cannot thank them enough for providing yarn support!
Evie’s Gone Camping is a yoked, all-over colorwork sweater, worked from the top down. It is designed to be generously oversized and with slight balloon sleeves. I’d wear this with mostly jeans and leggings.
The colorwork patterns are charted.
Construction
This yoked sweater is knit from the top down in the round. The sweater begins by working the neckband. Then short rows are worked to add height to the back neck. From there, you will begin working the first colorwork chart. Once you have finished the yoke section, you will separate the sleeves and body. Front and back are joined at the underarms to knit in the round. The body is worked in the round, finished with a bottom hem trim rib. The sleeve stitches that are on hold are then worked in the round to the cuff.

Recommended ease: This sweater is designed with proportional ease, which means that the amount of positive ease is based on body measurements to achieve a consistent fit across sizes. It is intended to be worn oversized with 8-15 in / 20-38 cm of positive ease at the bust.
The model wears size 4 with 15 in / 38 cm of positive ease at the bust.
