Expedition Hat and Scarf
PATTERN NOTES
The Expedition Set is perfect for a cold winter hike followed by a warm cup of hot cocoa in a local café. It has a bit of everything - stranded colorwork, cables, eyelets, fringe, and pom poms. The details in this pattern are well thought through, and the finishing touches keep things exciting and professional. The best part - the scarf is completely reversible, solving the problem of wrong-sided accessories.
The Expedition Hat is knit from the bottom up. Earflaps are knit first, and then work is joined to work in the round. For your convenience, the Earflaps are written and charted to best suit your personal preference. Take care to ensure you are knitting the correct Earflap chart for your size.
The Expedition Scarf features a reversible cabled portion that is knit flat from one end to the other. The stranded portions are knit in the round so that there is no wrong side. Use the longer circular needle for the Fair Isle portion of the hat using the magic loop method.
