Faded Pillars Sweater
Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.
A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. Choose whichever price works best for you!
- No Code – Full Price = $15.00 CAD
- PK10 – 10% off = $13.50 CAD
- PK20 – 20% off = $12.00 CAD
- PK30 – 30% off = $10.50 CAD
I also offer a Buy 3, Get 1 Free discount! Add any 4 of my patterns to your cart, and use the code BUY3GET1 to get the 4th pattern free! Note: the free pattern will be the lowest priced pattern.
The Faded Pillars Sweater is a lovely slightly cropped sweater design, with a V-neck front, and 2x2 ribbing on the sleeves and hem. This sweater is designed for Pasley Knits To the Mountains Mystery Box (12 x 50 g DK skeins) and worked in a fade using these 12 colourways. It can easily be knit solid or with another fade combination. It is knit top down raglan style. The sweater is intended to fit close to your bust, and have the ribbed hem start at the bottom of your bust and fall straight down. I will include some waist shaping modifications, but it is intended to be a bit more of a boxy fit. It is a size inclusive design, written in sizes every 2 inches from 28” - 66” bust.
Sizes offered:
28(30, 32, 34){36, 38, 40}42, 44, 460, 52){54, 56, 58}60, 62, 64, 66
Note: These sizes reflected the FINISHED bust measurements in inches of the sweater. The sweater is designed for 0-2 inches of positive ease, but can definitely be worn with 1-2 inches of negative ease if you prefer a snugger fit, or 3-4 inches of positive ease if you prefer a looser fit. To determine the size you wish to knit, measure your bust, and add 0-2 inches (or your intended ease) to find the closest size. If you are in between sizes, size down for a snugger fit, or up for a looser fit.
Yarn recommended:
Any DK weight yarn to match gauge
My sample is using Pasley Knits To the Mountains Mystery Box (12 x 50 g DK skeins, plus the optional extra full skein). The pattern will include instructions for how to work your fade if you choose to do so, but you are also welcome to do it solid or with any alternate number of colour fades! Just make sure your total yardage is around the below number for your size.
her Crabby DK base is 231 yds/100 g
Yardage recommended:
565(630, 670, 720){760, 825, 895}945, 995, 1050180, 1200){1280, 1370, 1420}1460, 1475, 1535, 1595
Additional yardage per extra 0.5 inch of body length
15(16, 17, 18){19, 20, 21}22, 23, 246, 27){28, 29, 30}31, 32, 33, 34
Note: Yardage is an approximation and is calculated using the recommended lengths from the schematic chart. Allow for extra yardage if choosing to do any length modification. Yardage can vary depending on your gauge and knitting, so I always recommend buying extra in case you require more yardage.
Needles recommended:
4.5 mm / US 6, 20/24 inch cord to start, and a cord that matches your bust circumference for the main body of the tee.
May need other size needles to meet gauge
I recommend using a set of interchangeable needles, or a pair of circulars that match the circumference of your bust as well as a 16” or 32”+ for magic loop for the sleeves.
Gauge:
20 sts x 26 rows = 4 inches x 4 inches (stockinette, worked in the round, blocked)
