This crochet mandala is a marriage of my Fancy Nancy Mandala and a modified version of Part 4 of Sophie’s Universe.

It celebrates the colour and joy my friend Nancy (@avocadofairy on Instagram) brings to the lives of everyone around her. It is a reminder of the fact that life is full of serendipitous encounters, wonderful people, precious moments of grace, and rainbows!

I have used a 3.25mm crochet hook and Scheepjes Catona Cutie Pies, yielding a 24cm/9.5” square. You are, of course, welcome to use any yarn/hook combination you fancy (no pun intended).

The pattern covers tapestry crochet, front/back-post work, really lazy popcorns, and invisible joins.

It is intermediate, but written for adventurous beginners, with plenty of photos and hints along the way.

I cannot wait to see your colourways.
