DESCRIPTION
Say hello to the Faux Brioche Beanie: a stunning crochet beanie with a knit-style brioche look!
This pattern features an easy-to-memorize 2-round repeat, delivering seamless colorwork magic using just one color at a time. The stitch pattern uses waistcoat stitches and chain spaces worked in alternated colors to create the vertical striping effect.
Get ready to fall in love with the modified waistcoat stitch with this stylish, warm, and versatile project that you’ll love making and wearing!
The Faux Brioche Beanie is worked seamlessly in the round from the top down, entirely on the right side. You start at the center of the crown and increase your way outward until you reach the final beanie circumference, at which point you continue working the pattern with no increases until the beanie reaches your desired length. Each round is closed using the invisible join method, which creates a hidden seam at the back of the hat.

This pattern was originally published as part of Hobbii’s 2025 Crochet Advent, A Winter’s Tale. It is now available in my usual pattern layout through my webshop or Ravelry. The pattern is also available as a Hobbii Plus pattern in multiple languages, including German, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Dutch.
