This project is a Confident Beginner pattern. It would make an ideal gift for the holidays. The sample mitts are elbow length but you can make them any length you want. The pattern is easy to memorize and by using bulky yarn, they knit up very fast and require minimal finishing. The mitts are designed to be very stretchy.
