There appears to be a serious discrepancy between the pattern I wrote and the published pattern. While I investigate to see where the corrections need to be made, be aware that following the symbol diagram might be your best chance.

Use two colors simultaneously, drop one color pick up the other, carry the first. You can do it! Work from the top down to create the rib pattern and striking colorwork.
