CONSTRUCTION
This small blanket, or hap shawl, is worked primarily in stockinette from the centre out, starting with a square worked flat. Stitches are picked up around the edges of the square, then worked in the round in and increased at four points, similar to a raglan yoke. Stitch patterns alternate between stockinette and simple eyelets, with a lace border to finish the edge.

SIZING
One size: 39 by 39 inches/97 by 97cm.

YARN
5 hanks of BC Garn Bio Shetland 50g/280m, in three colours:
C1: Anthracite (2 hanks, 560m),
C2: Dark Grey (1 hank, 280m), and
C3: Wheat (2 hanks, 560m).

The yardage recommendation is tight for C2 because I don’t enjoy leftovers or waste; if you don’t enjoy cutting it close with yarn, you may want a second hank.

GAUGE in 4 inches/10cm after blocking
Stockinette, worked in the round
20 sts by 34 rnds.

NEEDLES
4mm/US6.
Substitute with sizes required to obtain gauge if needed. If your gauge alters working in the round compared to flat, adjust accordingly.

CIRCULAR CORD LENGTHS
Short: 16 in/40cm for working flat.
Long: 30 in/75cm cord for working small circumference in magic loop and large circumference in the round, or choose your preferred methods. 

Increase cord length as needed. You may need up to an 80 in/200cm cord for working the blanket at its largest circumference.
