Finnish Midwinter Ski Hat is knitted in the round into a rectangular shape without any complicated shaping. The top of the hat is finished using the three-needle cast-off method.

Sizing

To fit medium to large adult head 55-60cm/22-24in.
Actual circumference at brim 54cm/22in.
This is a generously sized hat with stretchy ribbing.
The circumference of the hat can be altered by using different size of needles or hat block.

Tension

36 sts and 37 rnds = 10cm/4in using 2.75mm needles over colour-stranded pattern.
27 sts and 30 rnds = 10cm/4in using 2.75mm needles over ribbing.

Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply Jumper Weight - 100% Real Shetland Wool (118m/25g ball)

Yarn A - Shade 1403 Red: 2 x 25g balls
Yarn B - Shade 27 Grey: 2 x 25g balls

Three 25g balls of each colour is sufficient for knitting both the hat and matching Finnish Midwinter Mittens.
