Flakki Cowl
This cowl is worked in the flat for the edges and in the round for the body. It is a very simply pattern that is suitable for absolute beginners to knitting in the round and to stranded knitting. Flakki is the Shaetlan name for the traditional winnowing mat, which is what has inspired the play with two colours and a knit/purl texture to give that woven feel. The design uses only two colours, and you can of course swap between them at will. The pictures included here show the different effects that the dark and light background give.
