This is a written crochet pattern for the “Flower Sunglasses Case”- a small pouch bag with a colourful tulip design, and a drawstring closure with a decorative amigurumi bee charm on the end. Although designed to fit sunglasses (& standard glasses), the case would also work well as a pouch to hold other long narrow items such as crochet hooks, pens, a small handheld fan, a small sunscreen bottle, camping cutlery, earphones etc.

The pattern is available in both US and UK terms. The PDF file is 12 pages long with detailed instructions and lots of photos. In addition to Ravelry, this pattern is also available on my Etsy store to purchase.

This pattern is suitable for crocheters that are already familiar with amigurumi and basic crochet stitches/techniques (e.g. in US terms: MR, sc, hdc, dc, inc, dec, working into ch-sps, colour changing, etc.). One speciality stitch is also used: the popcorn stitch. A basic photo tutorial explains how to complete this stitch, however you will need to become quickly comfortable/familiar with it, as the popcorn stitch is used extensively in the pattern.

The sunglasses case and bee wings are worked in joined rounds. The bee body is worked in continuous rounds.

This project is considered low-sew as the only pieces that need to be sewn together are the two bee wings to the bee body. Additionally, the yarn ends (mainly from colour changes) need to weaved in and the drawstring needs to weaved through a round.

Materials & Tools Required:
• Yarn in colours white, green, red, yellow, pink, black - all in a DK/8ply weight.
• A crochet hook that matches your yarn weight (and you can meet gauge with).
• Safety eyes x2 for the bee (optional- you can embroider eyes if you prefer)
• Small amount of toy stuffing (or yarn scraps)
• Scissors
• Tapestry/finishing needle
• Stitch marker (optional)

Using a 3mm hook and DK weight yarn my finished sunglasses case (when flat) measured 8cm wide by 17cm tall. Gauge swatch details are included in the pattern to help with sizing.
