Spring is fairly lousy where I live, a wetter footnote to winter. No one actually sees my spring wardrobe until June because I’m buried under sweaters, hoodies, and the gloom of April showers. The best I can do is sneak in colorful handknits that give the illusion of spring but with a dash of warm practicality. As you work from section to section of your Footnote shawl, remember that the weeks of spring will change and pass, bringing some of us to a lovely, temperate summer, and some to an air conditioned frost where we’re still wrapped in shawls.
