Picnics are little gifts tucked into an otherwise routine life. The best ones are unplanned and full of surprises – a bit like this sweater. I started with half a plan (really just the sweet lace neckline). And what happened next was a bit of spontaneity – a little of this and that – and before I knew it, I had a menagerie of colors and stitches that reminded me of those happy afternoons in Paris.

CONSTRUCTION

This top-down, seamless pullover begins with a sweet lace collar, that leads into a circular yoke with three-color details. The yoke, body and sleeves are all worked in the round. The sleeve cuffs can be worked with a grafted lace to match the scalloped neckline, or a simpler ribbed edge.
