This is a cardigan of cozy elegance, with 6-9” of built in ease. Knitted from the bottom up, and consisting of 5 seamed pieces, it begins with 3.5” of 1x1 ribbing, then transitions into a 2-row stitch pattern on the back, fronts, and sleeves. Neck shaping on the fronts begins approximately 3.2 “ below the shoulders. Following the shoulder seaming, stitches are picked up around the neckline and worked in 1x1 ribbing for 6.5”, folded in half, and stitched into place around the inside of the neck to form a turtle neck collar. The final finishing consists of:
1) side seaming
2) sleeve seaming to form the dropped shoulders
3) fold over front facings sewn down to inside of fronts
4) hand sewing a zipper to the inside of the front facings; top of the zipper is tucked and sewn into edges of the collar.
