Frosty Fingerless Mitts
Test knitting thanks to: knitowl, wasatchknitter and teabird…thanks so much!!
please note - I have improved the thumb gusset from the pics here in the Noro Silk Garden mitt…it looks more streamlined now, seen in the mustard colored mitts. Please also see this project and this project for progress photos.
I have slender hands (7” circumference palm above the thumb) and small wrists (5-1/2” circumference). I liked some glove patterns, but wanted to do my own thing, so I used what I’ve learned and cobbled together something that fits me well.
Easy (brainless) to customize, figure your gauge in stockinette stitch for your wrist circumference and round up to the next multiple of 4 sts. The thumb shaping will take care of the hand measurement. Please PM me with any difficulties!
Skills needed: knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, RL1 and LL1 (instructions included in the pattern) using double pointed needles, picking up stitches, casting on and binding off.
