When Kim asked me to design the pattern for her yarn club with a fairy tale theme I couldn’t resist. And what a great fun it was to go back to childhood memories! I have listen to and read so many fairy tales as a little girl and the “Snow Queen” was one of my favorites. I have always imagined the cold, frozen reign of the Snow Queen to be a mysterious one and of exceptional beauty, and it gave me an idea for this little scarf/shawlette.

“Frozen” is crescent shaped and knit sideways with simple stockinette stitch body framed by a lovely lace border.

The intricate looking pattern is easy to make and beads add a touch of sparkle, just like the sun rays reflected from ice or snow. Due to the construction its size can be changed easily if a bigger piece is desired.
