Garden Bouquet Shawl is inspired by the elegant floral details in fashion prominent in the first several decades of the twentieth century. I wanted the shawl to look classic, clean but detailed; black and white make this a formal day piece. The shawl is a half circle and depicts elegant popular period English garden plants such as roses and trailing clematis scattered around the lace. I used modified Frost Flowers stitches so that the lace would be worked every other row and Wave and Scallop stitches not only for the edging but also to illustrate the flower buds and the garden grounds.
