Gillett
Inspired by my special yarn friend Janet, Gillett is a boxy, drop shoulder cabled piece that will make a great addition to your sweater collection! This garment celebrates delicious texture, and is shown in the most delightful yarn - Corrie Confetti by La Bien Aimee. If substituting yarn, stick with a wool or wool blend DK weight. A merino will make the cables pop even more than shown, while other wools or blends will give a bit more drape.
This sweater is knit in pieces from the bottom up. A statement cable runs up the center of both front and back, flanked on either side by Fisherman’s Rib. The Fisherman’s rib will appear to be somewhat “scrunched up” and shorter than the
center of front and back pieces. By steaming or wet blocking after the knitting is done, the Fisherman’s Rib will easily block out to be nearly as tall as the center/cabled portion. It will be slightly shorter though, creating the appearance of a curved hem.
