As a designer, sometimes things aren’t always what we imagine they’ll be when we begin designing. I have to confess that this dogbone ornament is one of those things, and to give credit where it is due, it was the fantastic crafters in the 2022 Down Cellar Studio Podcast Pigskin Party who helped create this pattern!

So while my original intention might have been an ornament for someone else and of something else, we all know a pup or two (or more!) who have been very good pooches and deserve a little holiday decoration!

Worked in the round on double pointed needles, this pattern is a great way to use up scraps! While written for a sport weight yarn, it could easily be knit in any weight and on any size needle (although be aware that will impact on the finished dimensions).
