The stitch pattern for Give It the Slip was adapted from Barbara G. Walker’s “Sandwich Stitch” in her Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns.

Give It the Slip is a two-color mosaic pattern cowl offered in written instructions only. While this pattern uses fingering weight yarn, other weights may be used. The pattern stitch is a multiple of 16 stitches. To make this cowl longer, add stitches in multiples of 16 and work the pattern as indicated. To make this cowl wider, work Rounds 1-24, ending either on Round 12 or Round 24, until your cowl is the desired width.

Gauges (all to 4 inches / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch):

Wool folk Tynd: 30 sts and 36 rows
Holst Supersoft: 27 sts and 32 rows
Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift: 28 sts and 33 rows

Each of these yarns come in lovely different colors. Pick two that will contrast well so the pattern will pop.

Enjoy!
