Let’s go fly this colourful kite bunting. Shaped with easy short rows, the kite shape is knitted in garter stitch with an integral cast-on/cast-off curly tail. The bows are knitted separately and tied on. Finally, the kites are stitched into a strip to form the bunting.

Instead of making bunting you could knit a single kite to use up stash yarn. Each kite uses approx 30m of DK yarn and each bow approx 3m of DK yarn.

Use it as a cloth, frame it and hang on the wall, or stitch to a bag, clothing, or a cushion.

Each kite measures 16cm wide x 18cm in height, not including the tail.

The bunting (using 2 balls of Spin Spin and following the instructions to include knitted bows) measures approx 112cm long. However, you can make the bunting as long or as short as you want to:

For instance, 4 balls of Spin Spin and you can make bunting up to 224cm long, 6 balls = 336cm long, etc.

If you are using a different yarn to the one suggested, you will need approx 230m in DK yarn for 112cm bunting.
