The different sections of the Gokyo shawl evoke the changing landscapes encountered in Nepal, while the yak blend yarn is a tribute to the animals that transport goods throughout the region.

Gokyo is knit in two colors of fingering weight yarn. It begins with a textured short row section similar to the patterns in the Geologica collection. The combination of knits, purls, and slip stitches creates the illusion of vertical stripes, although only one color is worked per row. This is followed by garter stitch stripes and eyelet lace, ending with a knitted-on border.
