The September Year of Gifts is here! Grace Anna Farrow designed these classic boot socks using Germantown, a perfect hard wearing wool layer for crisp autumn and winter days.

In conjunction with the release of the designs, we’re offering limited kits that include 1 skein of Germantown in Goldenrod, a 9” US 6 circular needle, A Year of Gifts sticker, and a postcard with a code to download the pattern for free. Find the kit on our site here or ask for it at your favorite LYS!

Worthy of Note
These cosy boots socks are worked in the round from the top down. The leg of the sock and top of the foot are worked in K2, P2 ribbing, while the bottom of the foot is worked in stockinette stitch.

The pattern is written as if you are working on a short circular needle. If using double pointed needles (DPNs), the stitches may be distributed such that the marker placements occur between needles. Stitches may be redistributed whenever the marker placement changes, and/or locking stitch markers may be placed into the fabric being knit.

Pay attention to the amount of yarn that is used; increasing the length beyond 8” in leg and a Woman’s US 9 foot will necessitate a second skein. If you would like to knit a longer foot length, we encourage you to work a shorter leg in order to have enough yarn.
