Gothique Shawl was inspired by the Gothic architecture from the Middle Ages. The lace stitch design resembles the pointed arches and the tympana of the portals that are present in the constructions of this period.

Gothique is a trapezoid-shaped shawl. Its construction begins at the top center, like a traditional top-down triangular shawl. After finishing the central triangle, both sides are worked separately, starting with the left side.

The shawl has areas in stockinette stitch and in lace stitch. It features i-cord edges all around it, starting from the cast on and ending at the bind off.

3 skeins or 1443 yards (1320 m).
• US 4 (3.5 mm) 24” (60 cm) or longer circular knitting needles (or size needed to obtain gauge).

Tip: if you want to substitute the yarn, choose an option that has wool or cotton in its composition. The use of acrylic yarn is not recommended for this project, since it is a type of fiber that does not respond well to blocking.

O Xale Gothique foi inspirado pela arquitetura gótica da Idade Média. O desenho do ponto rendado lembra os arcos ogivais e os tímpanos dos portais que estão presentes nas construções deste período.

O Xale Gothique tem o formato de um trapézio. Sua construção começa no centro superior, como um xale triangular top-down tradicional. Após a finalização do triângulo central, as duas pontas são tricotadas separadamente, iniciando pelo lado esquerdo.

O xale tem áreas em ponto jérsei e ponto rendado. Ele apresenta bordas em i-cord em todo o seu contorno, que são iniciadas a partir da montagem e finalizadas no arremate.

Dica: caso queira substituir o fio, escolha um que tenha lã ou algodão na composição. O uso de acrílico não é aconselhável neste projeto, visto que este é um tipo de fibra que não responde bem à blocagem.
