The Granny Squared Cowl is a fabulously simple pattern that creates a wearable and easy cowl for warmth, decoration, or fun. It’s a written, not charted, pattern, as I am still learning the ropes of crochet pattern writing.

The small size is appropriate for a child or smaller adult, and the large size is suitable for a larger person or adult. It’s that simple!

The amount of yarn is needed is given for a worsted weight yarn with a H hook. However, this pattern may be used with ANY weight yarn and ANY hook - want a looser, more lacy look, use a larger hook and thinner yarn; want a tighter, warmer cowl, use a thicker yarn with a smaller hook. This is an absolutely versatile and easy to manipulate pattern.

The yarn I used is Neighborhood Fiber Co.’s Studio Worsted in a test colorway gotten from their Mystery Skeins section.

This pattern is for general use. IF you cannot afford $1.00 for the pattern, use GFCfree as a coupon code for a free copy (ends 12/31/22).

Please enjoy this pattern!
