Groton is knit in-the-round from the bottom up and consists of two-by-two ribbing at the brim coupled with stockinette stitch and an intuitive fair isle pattern. Instructions for the fair isle pattern are both written and charted. You may alter the height of the hat by working more or less additional rounds after completing the fair isle section and prior to working the crown shaping. The Pom Pom is optional, but I really like how it “finishes” the hat.

1 (1, 1, 1) skein of Marianated Yarns Playtime DK (100% superwash merino, 274 yds/100g) for MC and 1 (1, 1, 1) mini-skein of Marianated Yarns Jujubee DK Mini (100% superwash merino, 50 yds/18g) for CC. Purple hat is shown in Morning Mist (MC) and Amethyst (CC). Charcoal hat is show in Spelunking (MC) and Morning Mist (CC).
