SKILLS
To knit this vest/top you need to know how to
knit and purl, knit in the round, make increases
with the “make one away” technique (the one
most commonly used to cast on stitches at the
underarm, also known as the backwards loop
method), pick up stitches, be familiar with slipping
stitches, the long tail cast-on and perform
the simple and 3-needle bind-offs.

CONSTRUCTION
This vest/top is knit bottom-up, i.e., it is started
to knit at the bottom ribbing, then the body is
knit in the round until the underarms, where
front and back are separated and worked flat
until the shoulders, which are then joined with
a 3-needle bind-off. A small edge is worked
around the stitches left for the neckline and at
the end, stitches are picked up around the armholes
to finish them with a ribbing.

GAUGE
24 stitches and 40 rounds in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in
described pattern, after blocking.

YARN
6 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8) balls of Felted Tweed by Rowan in
Colour 1 (main colour), 1 (1, 1, 1, 2, 2) ball(s) of
Felted Tweed by Rowan in Colour 2, and 1 (1, 1, 1,
2, 2) ball(s) of Felted Tweed by Rowan in Colour 3
(50% Wool, 25% Alpaca, 25% Viscose; 50 g / 175 m;
1.76 oz / 191 yd).
The colourways used are the Bottle Green 207 as
Colour 1, the Celadon 184 as Colour 2 and the
Stone 190 as Colour 3 for the teal version, and the
Lotus Leaf 205 as Colour 1, the Pink Bliss 199 as
Colour 2 and the Ginger 154 as Colour 3 for the
green version.

NEEDLES
3.5 mm US 4 circular needles with a cable length
of 80 cm 32”, or the required needle size to obtain
gauge for the body. Needles one size smaller
for picking up stitches at the armholes.

OTHER NOTIONS
1 stitch marker for the beginning of the round. Tapestry
needle to weave in ends.

Para tejer este top/chaleco es necesario saber
tejer punto del derecho, del revés, tejer en circular,
realizar aumentos montando puntos al
aire, remontar puntos, conocer la técnica de
los puntos deslizados, el montaje de hebra larga
y el cierre simple y el cierre con 3 agujas.

CONSTRUCCIÓN
Este es un top/chaleco bottom-up, es decir, se
teje de abajo hacia arriba. Primero se teje el
elástico, luego el cuerpo que se teje en circular
hasta las sisas donde se separan delantero y
trasero, que se tejen en plano hasta los hombros,
que se cierran con el método de las 3
agujas. Se realiza un pequeño remate en los
puntos que quedan para el escote y finalmente
se levantan los puntos y se tejen en punto elástico
para rematar las sisas.

MUESTRA
24 puntos y 40 vueltas para una muestra de 10 x 10 cm
4 x 4” en el punto del motivo, después de bloquear.
