The Hampstead pattern is a shawl V-neck, long fitted cap sleeve, semi-fitted pullover featuring an oversized single cable running up the centre of the front and back, flanked by K3, P3 ribbing. The K3, P3 ribbing pattern is also used on the sleeves. The hem and cuffs are done in the K3, P3 ribbing, using a smaller needle size. The shawl neck border is worked using reserved body stitches, in stockinette stitch, as an extension of the last centre cable. It is attached as it is worked, then joined at the centre neck back.
