Hampstead cushions
Hampstead Heath in one of the best places in London where you can see a sunset. When I was making one of the cushions cover and the yarn starting to show all those lovely stripes it reminded me of the sunset on Hampstead Heath.
Set of two cushions covers worked using the wonderful Tapestry crochet technique which allows you to work using two colours producing a stunning effect. The beauty of Sirdar Jewelspun really shines through on the background of solid colour.
The covers are finished off with playful pompoms.
The pattern includes picture tutorial on how to work using Tapestry crochet, but don’t worry they are on the last page so you don’t have to print them out.

Materials
Sirdar
A - 1 x Jewelspun in Sandstone Sunset 708 - 100% acrylic, 500 m (546 yrd) to 200 g
B - 3 x Saltaire in Stoat 300 - 55% Acrylic, 25% Nylon, 20% Alpaca, 130 m (142 yrd) to 50 g
5.00 mm (US 8/H) crochet hook or size needed to obtain tension
45 mm pompom maker
Tapestry needle
I have used a cushion pad and sewn in a zip to the bottom of the cushion covers for ease of washing. Alternatively, you can stuff the cushion covers with toy stuffing and crochet the opening shut.
With Zip you will need:
25 cm Zip in cream
30 x 40 cm (12 x 16 in) cushion pad for rectangular cover
35 x 35 cm (14 x 14 in) cushion pad for square cover
Sewing needle
Matching or invisible thread
Without zip:
Toy stuffing
Finished size
The finished cushions will fit cushion pads measuring:
Rectangular - 30 x 40 cm (12 x 16 in)
Square - 35 x 35 (14 x 14 in)
