NEEDLES:
3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle with 40 cm cable
4 mm / US 6 circular needle with 40 cm cable
4 mm / US 6 DPNs or circular needle with a 80 cm cable if you’re using the Magic Loop technique
Or a needle size that gives you the correct gauge.
GAUGE:
25 sts and 28 rnds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” over 1 x 1 Rib St with 3.5 mm / US 4 needles
Width of one cable pattern repeat (10 sts) = 4 cm / 1.5” with 4 mm / US 6 needles
NOTIONS:
Stitch marker, cable needle and tapestry needle.
METHOD:
The hat is worked from the bottom up starting with a 1 x 1 ribbed brim. Once that’s complete, you will work the cabled body by first following Chart A and then Chart B. Chart B also includes the decreases for the crown.
