Hat & Mitts
Sharing the same abstract X and O motif, the fitted cap is knit in the round and the fingerless mitts are knit flat. I felt each was the best technique for its project. The hat has seven repeats of the chart, each tapering to form a head hugging dome, while the mitts utilize the chart twice, filled in with a bit of ribbing. Keeping it easy, the thumb hole is simply a gap in the seam left unsewn.
