I knit this pooling yarn from Dyelicious Yarn into a boomerang, or vortex-shaped, shawl. I wanted a lacy shawl and I wanted to experiment with assigned pooling, so I worked a series of eyelets with the accent colour and plain stitches with the main colour.

Assigned pooling is a technique most often used with specially dyed yarns that have a single main colour interspersed with regular stretches of an accent colour. The accent could be one contrasting colour or multicoloured, and it usually comprises one-fourth to one-third of the total yardage in the skein. One stitch pattern is assigned to the main colour and a different stitch pattern is assigned to the accent colour, which creates interesting textured fabrics with colourful accents. The base fabric of this shawl is stocking stitch, so pooling stitches are worked knit-wise on right-side rows and purl-wise on wrong-side rows. Simple shaping manoeuvres are worked at the beginning of every row, and overall, this is an easy knit.
